Developing a New Class of Miniature Mass Spectrometers for On-Site Analysis

This PhD project falls within the general research area of Sensors & Analytical Instrumentation and relates specifically to in situ Mass Spectrometry.

Applications are encouraged from those with an interest in portable mass spectrometry including: ambient ionisation, chemical imaging, ion detection, ion trapping, miniaturisation, theoretical analysis and simulation.

The ideal candidate should have a good academic record, good team-working and communication skills, be enthusiastic about research and self-motivated, as well as meeting the entry requirements for PhD enrolment at the University of Liverpool:

You will have opportunities for national and international travel to present your research at renowned conferences with visits to industrial partners.
