About the Project

Skeletal muscle has a number of roles in the human body beyond locomotion. It is has a vital role in controlling the metabolic activity the organism. Muscle wasting is a key feature of many diseases. Many therapies are being developed to prevent muscle wasting. However we have excellent preliminary evidence that these therapies may impact on the development of the reproductive organs.
.The student will develop groundbreaking research into multi-organ interaction by investing muscle and testis and ovary development . The work is suitable for a highly motivated student interested in medically related topics focused on human health. The student will gain cutting edge training in stem cells biology, bio-informatics, molecular and cellular biology.
