Dr E Correa  Applications accepted all year round  Self-Funded PhD Students Only

About the Project

Applications are invited for a PhD in Computer Science, to start at a mutually agreed date or as soon as possible. We are looking for outstanding candidates, who are seeking a friendly, supportive and collegial environment in which to develop world-class research. Applicants are invited to send their own PhD research proposal so that a specific research topic can be agreed with the candidate. However, preference will be given to proposals specifically aimed at the interface between applied mathematics, statistics and/or data science. In particular, there is special interest in projects researching big data (data mining) or the use of optimisation algorithms and statistical tools applied to healthcare, biomedical research (bioinformatics) or solving a particular industrial problem (data analytics/operational research) - and applicants with an appetite for interdisciplinary research will be especially welcome.
EligibilityCandidates should have a 1st or upper 2nd class honours degree in an area relevant to the subject. In all cases a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification or other evidence of research skills and experience is preferred but not essential.
FundingApplication where funding can be secured from other sources will be accepted at any time. For further information visit: www.salford.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/fees-and-funding/research-degree-fees-and-funding
