About the Project

Carbondixoide has been extensively been used for the enhanced recovery of natural gas from reservoirs, which was favoured by its physical properties in the displacement of natural gas from reservoirs under critical conditions. Although the displacement process has attracted many research, the variation of the formation geology and connate water characteristics have been known to affect the displacement process, but it is still unclear to what extent such variation could influence the interactions and displacement process. This was partly due to inability to measure the interactions of the two gases adequate under reservoir conditions. In order to understand the interaction between the gases and whether or not Interfacial Tension (IFT) plays a role could be useful in the decision process for Enhance Gas Recovery (EGR).
EligibilityCandidates should have a 1st or upper 2nd class honours degree in an area relevant to the subject. Candidates should have an interest in petroleum, chemical, and/or mechanical engineering. In all cases a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification or other evidence of research skills and experience is preferred but not essential.
