About This PhD Project

Project Description

Using atherosclerosis as a disease model for chronic inflammation, the project will interrogate the cell-specific and systemic effects of Cxcl12 and Cxcr4, employing conditional knockout mice. Additionally, the underlying mechanisms behind the observed effects on lesion development will be further investigated in vitro or in vivo.

Eligible candidates (m/f) should have experience with mouse models, immunological and molecular biological techniques, a strong motivation and team spirit. German language skills would be helpful, solid English skills written and spoken are mandatory. The successful candidate (m/f) should hold an above-average Diploma/Master’s degree in biological sciences or related fields and have experience with basic methods of molecular and cellular biology. He/She will work in a team of experienced staff, PhD students, postdocs and technicians with excellent infrastructure.
