NIHR Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care North West Coast: Health Inequalities

MSc (By Research) Studentship - Reference RS/17/04

The National Institute for Health Research Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care North West Coast (NIHR CLAHRC NWC) brings together NHS organisations, local authorities and academic leaders from the Universities of Central Lancashire, Liverpool and Lancaster, to accelerate the translation of research findings into service improvements and maximise the potential for applied health research within the partner organisations to improve care.

The key focus of the NIHR CLAHRC NWC’s applied health research and implementation programme is to find effective and innovative ways to tackle health inequalities across the region. Further information about NIHR CLAHRC NWC can be found at the website http://www.clahrc-nwc.nihr.ac.uk/index.php

The NIHR CLAHRC NWC invites applications for a full-time (1 year) MSc (By Research) studentship to start 1 October 2017 at the University of Central Lancashire. We are looking for an exceptional individual to complete this MSc (By Research) which is targeted at reducing health inequalities.

A one year bursary of £5000 will be provided (subject to satisfactory progress) which will cover tuition fees at the Home/EU rate (£4195) and approved research costs. Due to funding restrictions, the studentship is open UK/EU nationals only. Suitable candidates should hold at least a UK Bachelor honours degree at upper-second class level (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant health, social care, or pertinent methodological subject. EU applicants will also require an overall IELTS score of 7 (or equivalent qualification.)

Any Intellectual Property arising from the studentship will be owned by the University of Central Lancashire and the successful applicant will be required to sign an Intellectual Property Assignment and also a Non Disclosure agreement regarding confidentiality. Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance may also be required.
