A PhD scholarship is available in the group of Associate Prof Sattlegger, for an exciting project in the interface of basic and biomedical research, funded by the Health Research Council of New Zealand. You will conduct basic biomedical research aimed to decipher the function of a particular cellular pathway, and explore this as a potential drug target for its suitability in the fight against cancer.

This project provides a unique opportunity for you to develop interdisciplinary skills from various disciplines, such as molecular biology, genetics, cell biology, protein biochemistry (protein-protein interactions, kinase assay, protein structure models). We already have promising preliminary data which will allow a fast start into this PhD project. A PhD scholarship is available covering living expenses as well as fees.

• Evidence of ability to conduct research
• Relevant Masters or First Class Honours Degree, with at least an A- (75%)
• Background/knowledge/experience relevant to the project area

• Excellent communication skills
