Data visualisation and communications for Internet of Things
The programme of work aims to research data visualization for IoT data from a wide range of sensors, including technologies such as RESTful APIs, MQTT, Web of Things, etc. This would then enable data analytics capabilities using machine learning algorithms, comparing data from similar devices, predicting potential equipment failures and making informed decisions. The project will also investigate different communication technologies for IoT such as LoRA, Sigfox, and NB-IoT. The aim is to expand the solutions capabilities to receive data via various means from third party hardware manufacturers, hence extending the addressable markets.

The postholder will be eligible to submit the work undertaken as the basis for a body of work to be examined for consideration of the award of a PhD from Keele University.
Starting salary: £16,654 per annum.
