About the Project

The Department of Animal Science at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for the position of Graduate Research Assistant. The successful candidate will be involved in a multifaceted research program in dairy cattle nutrition and physiology with an emphasis on metabolomics.

Project aims
Candidates must be able to perform experiments independently, prepare research reports including poster and oral presentations, and submit manuscripts for publication. Candidates must be willing to work effectively in a collaborative environment and be willing to learn applied and basic research techniques. Demonstrated expertise or experience in nutrition, biochemistry, molecular biology techniques, metabolomics, and statistics is a plus.
The position offers full tuition, a competitive stipend, and Graduate Student benefits.

Qualifications
Qualifications and application process: Applications are invited from highly motivated candidates. To be considered for admission, applicants must hold a B.S. or M.S. in one of the following areas: animal or dairy science, veterinary medicine, biomedical science, biochemistry, molecular biology, or agronomy. Applicants must include a brief letter of interest stating how their background and qualifications match this position.
