About the Project
We are currently seeking to recruit one Ph.D. candidate to undertake high impact research. The research program is driven by the potential to greatly reduce carbon emissions from internal combustion engines using hydrogen carrier fuels such as ammonia.
The research project to be undertaken is aimed at developing novel fuel delivery and combustion systems for hydrogen carrier fuels. In-depth analysis of the combustion process will be undertaken to improve the combustion efficiency and emissions. The research will be carried out at the state-of-the-art RMIT Green Engines Facility in the Bundoora East campus of RMIT University.
The Ph.D. scholarship is three years in duration at the APA/RSS rate (approx. $30,000 AUD per annum). The scholarship is competitive and is available to Australian and international students. International students with a Master’s degree from a reputable university are encouraged to apply.
In order to be considered, local applicants must have completed a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical, Automotive or relevant discipline area with a 1st class Honours or equivalent. Preference is given to applicants with a Master’s degree and industry experience. Applicants must have an excellent knowledge of Thermodynamics and have ample hands-on experience with piston engines. Commencement of Ph.D. studies is expected in the first half of 2019.
