Prof P Slater  Applications accepted all year round

About the Project

A fully funded 3-year PhD studentship is available from Summer/Autumn 2018 within the group of Prof. Peter Slater. The project is linked with the recently funded EPSRC JUICED hub. It will focus on the synthesis of novel materials for application as electrodes for solid oxide fuel cells/electrolysers.
The project is multi-disciplinary, allowing the student to be trained in a range of techniques, including solid state/sol gel synthesis, conductivity measurements, cell testing, X-ray and neutron diffraction.

Funding Notes

Funding will be for at least 3 years and will cover University tuition fees at the UK level and provide the standard tax-free stipend (at the current EPSRC level). Applicants must be UK or EU nationals with a 1st or high upper second class degree (or an equivalent European qualification) in chemistry or a closely related discipline.
