About the Project

In this topic, you will investigate how social movement organisations (including NGOs, activist groups, civil society organisations) influence corporate social audit practices. By focusing on MNCs, you will in particular investigate whether and how social audits create corporate transparency and accountability. Social movements (including broader stakeholder pressures) and the new wave of social disclosure regulations for corporations stimulate us to research motivation for corporate social audit practices. Both qualitative and quantitative methods will be utilised to support the research.

Funding Notes

This project is funded by a University of Aberdeen Elphinstone Scholarship. An Elphinstone Scholarship covers the cost of tuition fees, whether Home, EU or Overseas.

Selection will be made on the basis of academic merit.
