About This PhD Project

Project Description

There is an increasing interest in equipping our learners with the tools to be able to respond to change (1). The view that entrepreneurship education should be based on experiential approaches to learning is gaining ground. However, there is both little discussion in the literature on what form experiential education should take and a paucity of examples of experiential approaches to learning. Medicine is no different and there has been an increasing focus on how this is included in an already busy curriculum (2). In the UK, there has been a variety of different initiatives and awards to support E&I development within the NHS (3). However, little work has been done to look at how this manifests in undergraduate medical education in the UK. This PhD work will focus on the UK undergraduate medical education context and explore how this in included in curricula from the viewpoints of different stakeholders e.g. curricula managers and leaders, faculty, students and patients.
