Land Justice and Human Rights: using international and regional human rights mechanisms to protect land and land users.

Traditionally, issues relating to land have fallen outside of the international human rights matrix. However, over the past 25 years there have been increasing attempts to create international and regional human rights relating to land, and to use human rights discourse in strategic litigation and lobbying at domestic, regional and international levels. Land justice and human rights spans environmental issues, collective rights of indigenous populations, displacement and resettlement, amongst others. Applicants must hold a 2:1 or 1st class degree in law or social science, and a postgraduate degree in a related subject.
