Development of an age estimation method using MR images of the hand wrist taken from a contemporary population

The use of radiographs of the left hand wrist have been utilised as an age estimation of the living method for many years. The development of safer imaging modalities means that new datasets need to be developed and tested to enable them to reach the appropriate standards of reliability and admissibility for use in age estimation of the living. This project will utilise MRI scans collected at the local hospital to develop and test a reference dataset for age estimation of the living using MR images.

An essential part of the remit of the Greenhouse Research Studentships Programme is that successful applicants are required to teach within the dissecting room throughout semesters 1 and 2 and to assist with other classes as and when required.

Eligibility:

Candidates MUST have an undergraduate or Master degree which includes experience in full body gross anatomical human dissection.
