About the Project

There is increasing need within the pharmaceutical and fine chemical sector to develop chemical building blocks that possess different shapes and morphology to those commonly used to construct molecules of biological interest. This project looks to develop asymmetric catalytic methods that can be used to prepare such molecules and thus provide the opportunity to explore different regions of chemical space. The project will involve design and optimisation of low-molecular weight catalysts for use in desymmetrisation and reduction processes. Developed processes will be used to prepare small collections of products that are of direct relevance to our industry project partners.
