What does our Centre offer?
The Centre offers a highly multi-disciplinary environment at the interfaces between pharmaceutical, chemical, life sciences, engineering and clinical research. The four-year doctoral programme involves a bespoke scientific and soft-skills training programme, and 12-week training projects at academic and industry sites in the first year of study before students commence their PhD research. Students are fully involved, with academic and industry partners, in the design of their PhD projects.
Throughout the 4-year programme, in addition to academic training in various disciplines of advanced healthcare therapeutics, our students are supported to actively participate in learning and training, innovation and entrepreneurship. They benefit from the Centre’s bespoke training in transferable skills development, conference and colloquia events, active learning sessions, team working and problem solving sessions, outreach activities, and close industry involvement. Our integrated university - industry relationship allows all our students unrivalled access to the healthcare, chemical, pharmaceutical and clinical research expertise of our academics and our industrial partners.
