About the Programme

Having won a coveted place in the national network of training centres accredited by the ESRC, the Wales Doctoral Training Centre is awarding a number of ESRC-funded postgraduate research studentships to support doctoral research and training over the next few years.

Each DTC has accredited pathways, onto which 4 year (1+3) or 3 year (+3) studentships are awarded. At Cardiff University the accredited pathways are:

Economics
Empirical Studies in Law
Environmental Planning
Human Geography
Language Based Area Studies
Linguistics: Language and Communication
Management and Business Studies
Psychology
Social Sciences: Criminology; Education; Science and Technology Studies; Social Policy; Social Work and Social Care; and Sociology.

Some or all of the PhD opportunities in this programme have funding attached. It is available to citizens of a number of European countries (including the UK).
