We topped the latest UK government's Research Assessment Exercise in education research, ranking above Oxford and Cambridge; and across all subjects, our performance places us among the UK's top 10 universities.
We lead an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) accredited doctoral training centre in partnership with Birkbeck, SOAS and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, which offers a total of 26 studentships per annum. Visit www.ioe.ac.uk/dtc for more details.
The IOE has a graduate research community of more than 800 students, by far the largest in the field of education in the UK, and one of the biggest for social research.
Our world-wide network of alumni includes government ministers in the UK and abroad; heads of British and overseas educational institutions; and award-winning authors.
Centrally located in historic Bloomsbury, the IOE is within walking distance of many of London's museums, galleries, theatres, cinemas, shops, cafes and restaurants.
