Prof D Guan, Prof Maren Duvendack  No more applications being accepted  Funded PhD Project (Students Worldwide)

About the Project

Social Sciences Graduate School Research PhD Studentships are offered to prospective candidates from the academic year 2015/6.

The Studentships will be available under the Scheme to applicants who, in their research proposal, demonstrate academic excellence in areas relevant to the field of climate change and environmental or ecological economics. The studentships will be based in the School of International Development.

The studentship will be funded by the Social Science Faculty, with part funding coming from the Leverhulme Trust. The successful candidate would work with Dabo Guan, Professor of Climate Change Economics at UEA as well as receiving co-supervision from other colleagues within the School of International Development. Please see our International Development Research Areas and Academic Profiles for more details, and for the research interests of individual members of staff.

Applicants for all studentships are invited from suitably qualified graduates. Candidates should hold, or expect to hold, a minimum of at least a 2.1 (upper second class) undergraduate degree and a Research Masters degree or equivalent. Candidates may be asked to participate in an interview, which could take place via telephone or Skype as part of the selection process. EU and International applicants may be required to provide evidence of competence in the English Language.

To be considered for this award, you should make an application for admission to a PhD in the normal manner, but you should indicate the intention to be considered for the studentships on climate change and environmental and ecological economics under the Postgraduate Studentships Scheme. Please contact either Dr Maren Duvendack to discuss any specific queries about your proposal or application.

Funding Notes

The Studentship covers tuition fees, a tax-free maintenance grant (for 2015/16 this will be £14,057 per year), and a research training support grant. UK/EU and international students are welcome to apply and the fee difference would be included in the award.
