School of Mathematics: Marie Curie Early Stage Researcher in Mathematical Immunology - Quanti – Quantitative T Cell Immunology Reference: MAPMA0052
Fixed term for 36 months, 2 posts available
You will carry out research and participate in the activities of the European Union (EU) funded 7th Framework Programme (FP7) Marie Curie Initial Training Network (QuanTI), involving five Universities, seven Research Institutes and five industrial companies across Europe.
The primary objective of QuanTI is to train a new generation of quantitative immunologists, who will be able to address challenges arising in Systems Immunology. This will be achieved with the Network, (QuanTI), that will train a total of 11 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) and 4 Experienced Researchers (ERs) across Europe, bringing together renowned European experimental and theoretical scientists from private and academic institutions.
You will be currently, or about to undertake, doctoral studies in Mathematical Biology (Systems Immunology) have an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and be eligible to be appointed as an Early Stage Researcher in the UK.
You will have, at the time of recruitment by the University of Leeds, less than four years full-time equivalent research experience and have not yet been awarded a doctoral degree.
Full-time equivalent research experience is measured from the date when a researcher obtained the degree which would formally entitle him or her to embark on a doctorate, either in the country in which the degree was obtained or in the country in which the researcher is recruited or seconded, irrespective of whether or not a doctorate is or was ever envisaged.
You should, at the time of recruitment by the University of Leeds, not have resided or carried out your main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the UK for more than twelve months in the three years immediately prior to the reference date (date of recruitment).
You should not be a national of the United Kingdom (there are two exceptions: researchers with more than one nationality can be recruited if they have not resided in the UK during the previous five years; researchers who have legally resided and have had their principal activity (work, studies, etc.) in a third country for at least three out of the last four years).
In your application, you are asked to upload academic transcripts for your University Degrees, together with a brief statement of your research interests.
