About the Project

Applications are invited for a three-year PhD studentship position funded by the Pathological Society of Great Britain & Ireland, starting from 1 October 2017. Funding will cover the student’s stipend at the current Research Council rate and University Fees. **The studentship is available to UK nationals and EU students who meet the UK residency requirements.

The successful candidate will join Professor Ming-Qing Du’s research group and investigate the molecular function of KLF2, a transcriptional factor, which is frequently inactivated by somatic mutations in splenic marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (Clipson et al Leukemia 2015:29:1177-85). Applicants should have or expect to have an upper second honours BSc or MSc degree in biomedical science or a related subject. Experience in biomedical research is an advantage. The post-holder should be highly motivated, and keen to work within a multidisciplinary team. Additionally, the Department requires that by the time of interview all potential students must have fulfilled the language requirements for admission (http://www.graduate.study.cam.ac.uk/courses/directory/blpapdpth/requirements)
