PhD Research Project
The Pervasive and Artificial Intelligence research group in the Department of Informatics at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) has an openings for a PhD position.
The position will be in the area of human-computer interaction in pervasive computing environments and will explore the most appropriate and effective ways to provide users feedback about their own actions and the actions of others in a multi-user, multi-display, multi-device collaborative environment. This work will be carried out in the framework of the ICE (Interactive Collaborative Environment) project.
Candidate Profile
- a Master in Computer Science or Human Computer Interaction, or an equivalent degree (obtained before the start of their doctoral work)
- a good level of spoken and written English (a good level of spoken German or French is an asset since involvement in teaching activities is a part of the employment contract)
- interest in working on interdisciplinary projects

- successful applicants will be enrolled as students and employed by the university for a period of 4-5 years (initially 1 year, renewable for another 3-4 years depending on performance)
- an annual salary of between 41,400 and 59,100 Swiss francs, depending on qualifications
