About the Project

PhD studentship available in the Warwick IER, one of Europe’s leading centres for labour market research, covering the cost of home/EU level fees only. For information on the IER prospective applicants should in the first instance go to the IER web pages (www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/soc/ier). Further financial support for the PhD is sometimes available through part-time research assistantships.

Research focuses on the relationship between higher education, employment, skills and knowledge development and economic development at national and international levels, and on the relationship between higher education expansion and increasing diversity, occupational restructuring and the impact of these on employment and career development opportunities for different groups within the labour market, according to qualifications, skills and other demographic variables. ‘The knowledge society’, gender differences in higher education and career outcomes are of particular interest.

To apply, see www2.warwick.ac.uk/study/postgraduate/. Applicants should indicate on the completed form their interest in the studentship.
