The UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics is a highly regarded University Department in Ireland for Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science and Applied and Computational Mathematics, and has an excellent international reputation. The academic members of the school work on cutting-edge research across a wide variety of areas. With approximately 40 current research students in the school it is a vibrant and stimulating place to work and study. The school has several active weekly seminar series that attract international leaders across all branches of mathematical sciences.
The Research Demonstratorships will be available for up to 4 years full time PhD studies. They will be awarded competitively on academic merit. The start date for these opportunities is September 2016.
The stipend payment for the Research Demonstratorship programme is €15,000 per annum (tax free) together with up to €2000 in travel allowance over the four years. This will include tutorial duties. Successful applicants who do not qualify for any external fee support will in addition be covered for 50% fees.
The closing date for applications is Friday April 1st 2016 with the results anticipated in early May.
