FindAPhD Terms & Conditions for Advertisers
FAU - FindAUniversity Ltd - the owners of FindAPhD.
Advertisers - University departments, schools or faculties, or research institutes registered with FindAPhD.
Public Area - The area of FindAPhD that students (and any other visitors) see.
Project entries - a single research project listed under the name of the academic supervisor.
Specialist PhD Programme - description of a Doctoral Training Centre or other specialist PhD programme such as Graduate Teaching Assistantship, Clinical PhD Programmes and International PhD Programmes taught in English (outside the UK).
Research Programme Pages - a description of the PhD opportunities within an academic school or department in the Arts,
Humanities or Social Sciences.
Custom Pages - In circumstances where an advertiser’s needs cannot be met using the above options, we may offer to provide a Custom Page advert.
Display Adverts - Banner or Button advertising linking to listings within FindAPhD.
Terms & Conditions
Advertisers are responsible for keeping the information they present on FindAPhD up to date. FAU reserve
the right to hide project entries from the public area of the site if the information provided appears out of date or
Newly registered project entries are not available in the public area until the following data has been entered:
- Application Deadline
- Project Status (funding availability)
- Project Title
- Subject Areas
Project entries and advertisers are registered with FindAPhD for 12 months and will automatically be
hidden from the public area of FindAPhD after this time and may subsequently be deleted.
Advertiser's general department descriptions are not available on the public area of FindAPhD if no
project entries are viewable in the public area.
Project entries appear on the public area of FindAPhD when they have a valid application deadline (i.e.
a future date or 'applications accepted all year round').
Advertisers can change any of their project entry details (except department name and the first supervisor's name) at
any time during the registration period.
Project entries must:
- Contain details of a supervisor’s single defined research project.
Project entries must not:
- Announce the availability of multiple studentships.
- Announce the general availability of one or more studentships within a department or research group.
- List multiple or broad research areas.
Where a limited number of studentships are available across a choice of research projects, an entry is required for each proposed or potential project.
Links to lists of further research projects may not be placed in individual project entries.
FAU reserve the right to remove without notice any project entries on FindAPhD which breach one or more of the above Terms and Conditions. No refunds will be given in these circumstances.
Specialist PhD Programmes
Specialist PhD Programme Pages can only contain details of a single PhD programme. If you have multiple Specialist PhD Programmes within the same department or faculty they will require separate pages.
Ads must not be used to promote other PhD programmes within the Advertiser's institution.
Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Maths & Computing PhD Programmes
Only PhD programmes in the Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Maths & Computing can be included.
Ads must be used to promote PhD programmes only available within the registered department, school, faculty or institute. Other opportunities within the same university must be promoted in a separate listing.
Display Adverts can only link to listings within the FindAPhD database or to another page on FindAPhD.
Buttons and banners are usually designed by our in-house team. Whatever the source of the ad, it is the advertisers responsibility to ensure that the appropriate rights have been obtained for use of any images or logos that make up the button or banner. FAU retain copyright on any buttons, banners or other creatives that FAU produces on your behalf. Their use is licenced for FindAPhD only. Advertisers wishing to use any of our creatives on their own sites should contact email@example.com.
Featured Open Days & Institution Profiles
Featured Open Day and Institution Profile adverts are designed by our in-house team. Whatever the source of the ad, it is the advertiser's responsibility to ensure that the appropriate rights have been obtained for use of any images or logos used in the page.
Custom pages are designed by our in-house team. Whatever the source of the ad, it is the advertiser's responsibility to ensure that the appropriate rights have been obtained for use of any images or logos used in the page.
Acceptable content for Custom pages is at the discretion of FAU.
FAU will deliver the agreed number of ad impressions in the territories requested by the client over the time period required. The proportion of ads delivered in each territory will vary. In rare circumstances FAU may not be able to deliver the requested number of impressions in the time provided. Under these circumstances FAU will either credit the Advertiser for the undelivered portion of the itinerary or extend the duration of the campaign as required.
Artwork for Audience Extension campaigns should be supplied by the advertiser or can be produced by our team for an additional fee. It is the advertiser's responsibility to ensure that the appropriate rights have been obtained for use of any images or logos used
Prices quoted are valid for 30 days. Time slots for emails and display advertising are subject to availability. To be sure that your advertising can run when you want it to then please confirm your booking as soon as possible.
Please note bookings are made for the dates specified on your order only and cannot be changed without 30 days notice.
Any changes to your booking dates are subject to availability and if no alternative is available then the original booking dates will stand (see Amendments below).
All artwork/copy should be delivered to us 1 week prior to campaign start date and as per the Specification Guidelines supplied upon booking.
Email Campaigns - Failure to supply copy/artwork which results in missing the send date will incur the full fee (see Cancellations below). We will endeavor to offer an alternative send date, but these will be subject to an Amendment Surcharge (see below).
Display Advertising & Audience Extension - If you are unable to adhere to the copy deadline(s) and this results in a delay in the agreed start date(s), you are liable to lose time on the agreed campaign length or will be subject to the amendment surcharges detailed below.
Project Credit Purchases cannot be cancelled. Other orders can be cancelled without charge with the provision of 60 days notice prior to the start date.
A Cancellation fee will apply for other Cancellations as set out below:
- 30-59 Days notice – Cancellation fee equivalent to 20% of the order value
- 15-29 Days notice – Cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the order value
- 14 Days or less notice – Cancellation fee equivalent to 100% of the order value
Amendments to Booking Dates
Any changes to your booking dates are subject to availability and if no alternative is available then the original booking dates will stand. Please note that dates for solus email campaigns are often booked up well in advance and alternatives may be hard to find.
You can make amendments to the dates when your campaign will run at no charge providing alternative dates are available and you are able to provide 30 days notice.
An amendment fee will apply for booking date changes as set out below:
- 15-29 Days’ notice – Amendment surcharge equivalent to 20% of the order value
- 14 Days or less notice – Amendment surcharge equivalent to 50% of the order value
