MRC Clinical Sciences Centre fully funded studentships

Fully funded studentships available for our 4 year PhD programme commencing October 2026.

The MRC LMS is a core-funded transdisciplinary institute in which scientists and clinicians collaborate to advance the understanding of fundamental biology and its relevance to human health. We have eleven fully-funded studentships – seven Core PhD studentships and four Transdisciplinary PhD (tPhD) studentships available for our 4-year PhD programme, commencing in October 2025. These studentships provide a generous stipend (£26,500 per year), tuition fees and consumables for 4 years.

The MRC LMS PhD programme is aimed at exceptional candidates with a keen interest in pursuing ground-breaking interdisciplinary research and who are interested in learning how to think creatively to tackle a problem. We welcome applications from biologists, chemists, physical scientists and engineers who have a passion for the biology of health and disease.
