The University of Reading is ranked 169th in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2024 and 98% of our research is of international standing.* The University was established in 1892, received its Royal Charter in 1926, and has since developed into a research-intensive institution with a strong reputation. The University’s vibrant and diverse doctoral community is firmly embedded in our research culture spanning areas such as the arts and humanities, business and management, social sciences, environmental and physical sciences and life sciences.
