  Maree Perkins

Role: Head of Student Engagement and Development

Maree has been working with, and for students, since graduating back in 2012. Starting off as a mentor and coach for first year Media School students at her university, she’s always wanted to make sure everyone feels supported to achieve their potential. She particularly enjoys taking all the complicated areas of postgraduate study and making it super simple for anyone to understand.

Maree studied her GDL part-time, alongside her full-time job, so she’s no stranger to the professional postgraduate experience. Balancing assignments and exams with her day-to-day work life was challenging, but she’s happy to share her tips and tricks to future postgraduate students, and explain how finance works (as well as self-funding which is what she did for her studies).

Personal development is the name of her game, so outside of sharing the student voice, Maree is a certified fitness and nutrition coach, beginner wakeboarder, casual aerial hoop artist and is currently learning the art of illustration.

Expertise

  • Studying online
  • Juggling a degree and a full time job
  • Mental health and wellbeing
