University of East Anglia
Research studentships at a world-leading institution
Whether you want to follow your passion, advance your career or change direction, set yourself apart with a prestigious research degree from UEA.
We’re one of the UK’s leading research institutions, ranked 10th in the UK for the quality of our research outputs (Times Higher REF 2014 analysis), and with more than 1,500 research students.
Breaking boundaries
Our postgraduate researchers are at the heart of active research teams, challenging boundaries and making real advances. Collaboration is at the core of our research philosophy and you could find yourself working with colleagues from across our disciplines, as well as experts from the Norwich Research Park and beyond.
The Norwich Research Park provides UEA postgraduate students with access to a world-leading science base, bringing six major research institutions together on one site. It’s one of Europe’s leading research centres, conducting cutting-edge multidisciplinary research, with an annual research spend of over £130 million.
Campus & the City
The UEA campus is just on the outskirts of Norwich, the independent city with a big heart, where every year we welcome thousands of students to make themselves at home.
Norwich fuses fascinating history with a lively arts scene; the Waterfront, for instance - one of East Anglia’s premier live music venues - bursts to life every night from one of the oldest roads in the UK - 1,500-year-old King Street.
It’s also a great city for shopping, socialising and exercising, with two shopping malls, dozens of vibrant pubs and cosy cafes, and brilliant sports facilities, including the UEA Sportspark.
This is our showcase of the city that we’re lucky enough to call home: you’ll soon find there’s nowhere quite like it:
Bring your research to life
Every year we welcome students from all over the world to come and be part of our world leading and world changing research.
