he Department of Chemistry is a large and successful department in an attractive University with an excellent reputation for teaching and research.
We have about 60 full-time members of academic staff including many winners of international prizes, over 620 undergraduate students, approximately 200 graduates (mainly studying for PhD degrees) and more than 70 research fellows. We have a group of coherent laboratories, recently extended and modernised to provide an excellent environment for teaching and research.
