Jackie Price is a Professor of Molecular Epidemiology at the Usher Institute, part of the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. They have a significant role in researching the molecular epidemiology of vascular disease, diabetes and its complications, as well as cognitive impairment and dementia. They serve as the Principal Investigator for the Edinburgh Type 2 Diabetes Study and coordinate several datasets including the AAA Trial, EHDPS, and EAS. Jackie Price is also a member of the Molecular Epidemiology Research Group and the Centre for Global Health. They have held the position of Director of postgraduate research at the Usher Institute until 2023 and are currently the Deputy Director from 2021 to 2024. Their teaching and supervision encompass both undergraduate and postgraduate epidemiology. Additionally, they have contributed to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of vascular disease, serving as the co-ordinating editor of Cochrane Vascular until 2023 and as an honorary consultant in Public Health for NHS Lothian. They are a founding member of the Cochrane Heart Stroke and Circulation Thematic Group and the ADVICE collaboration. Jackie Price is also a key scientist at the Centre for Cognitive Aging and Cognitive Epidemiology at the University of Edinburgh and leads national and international collaborations, including the Edinburgh lead in the UCLEB consortium of UK-based prospective studies on applied genomics, COMETS (metabolomics), EGRF, NCD-RisC, Proof-ATHERO, and USE-IMT. They are the lead/Principal Investigator for the NESSIE (NIHR-funded Evidence Synthesis Group).
