As this year comes to a close, and we look ahead to next year, we’ve decided to reflect on the most read blogs of 2018.

This year saw the UK’s new PhD loan scheme roll out, Brexit drama (together with some reassurances), and England getting to the men’s football World Cup semi-final. I know which one I enjoyed the most!

Judging by our most popular blogs, it’s also seen lots of you looking for advice with PhD applications and funding. These posts cover 2018’s PhD funding, research proposals, CVs and PhD misconceptions.

Understanding funding for PhDs can be a tricky business, but the recent introduction of doctoral loans made for a welcome addition to UK funding options.

We've been keeping an eye on things here at FindAPhD and made sure to explain how the loans fit within a wider funding landscape. This blog set out everything you need to know about PhD funding and was among 2018’s most popular and helpful.
